Custom Master Bathroom and LVP Flooring Renovation for a Seattle Home

Scope of work

A complete master bathroom and flooring renovation featuring luxury vinyl plank flooring, custom tilework, upgraded plumbing and electrical, and modern finishes for a Seattle home.

This master bathroom and flooring remodeling project in Seattle, WA, involved a full interior upgrade designed to improve comfort, functionality, and overall home value. The renovation focused on creating a clean, modern bathroom while updating flooring throughout designated areas for a cohesive and refreshed look.

The project began with full demolition and site preparation. Existing bathroom fixtures, including the tub, vanity, tile, toilet, lighting, and hardware, were carefully removed. Old flooring materials such as carpet, hardwood, and baseboards were taken out, and all debris was cleared offsite. The subfloor was inspected, leveled, and repaired as needed to ensure a stable foundation for new installations.

Luxury vinyl plank flooring was installed following manufacturer guidelines, using a staggered layout for a natural appearance. Precise cuts were made at doorways and transitions, and new baseboards were installed to complete the finished look. Underlayment was added where needed for moisture protection and sound reduction.

Framing work included constructing new interior walls, a shower curb, a built-in niche, and framing for a pocket door system with proper headers, track installation, trim, and hardware. Drywall was installed on all new and adjusted wall sections, then taped, mudded, and sanded to create smooth, paint-ready surfaces.

Plumbing upgrades included removing outdated supply lines and installing new PEX piping for hot and cold water. The toilet drain and water lines were relocated to match the updated layout, and new shut-off valves were installed. Tub and shower valves were roughed in, pressure tested, and set to ensure proper drainage and long-term reliability.

Electrical work modernized the space with new recessed lighting above the shower and tub, upgraded vanity lighting, relocated outlets, and an added outlet near the toilet. Waterproof-rated lighting was installed in the shower niche, and all wiring and connections were tested to meet safety and code requirements.

Tile installation completed the bathroom transformation. Floor tiles, shower wall tiles, and the shower curb were installed over properly waterproofed surfaces using cement backer board and a waterproof membrane. All tile was carefully laid, grouted, sealed, and trimmed for a clean, durable finish.

Final touches included installing a double-sink vanity, tub and tub filler, shower head, fixed glass shower panel, toilet, LED magnifying mirror, and coordinated hardware such as towel bars, robe hooks, and toilet paper holders. Interior painting was completed with primer and two coats of paint on walls and ceilings for a bright, finished appearance.

A detailed 3D design layout guided the entire remodel, allowing for fixture placement, tile selection, and layout planning with up to two rounds of revisions to ensure homeowner satisfaction. After completion, a full cleanup and walkthrough were performed.

The result is a beautifully remodeled master bathroom and updated flooring in Seattle, WA, delivering modern style, improved functionality, and long-lasting durability designed for everyday living.
